Yes I know people complain about it, and I know especially if you live in the suburbs you probably experience more delays than people in the city, but I have really grown to love the metro.
I spent over a decade living in Texas, and believe me I love Texas. I am a Texas Longhorn Alumni, big fan of Vince Young and Texas Football, and I loved Tex-Mex probably a little too much at times. That being said, the one thing I did not like--always having to need a car. If you don't don't have a car in Texas its like not having your right arm. You need it. You always need it. It seems no matter where you go, you have to drive there.
It is great being in a town where you can get around without a car. I use my car maybe once a week now if I have to goto the store, or jet out to see my parents. I fill up maybe once a month, which really cuts down on my gas expense.
